I have not seen a "Dissected Animal Puzzle", only the "New" version. Make your own best guess with this one, I have seen it listed as "German-made, about 1900" and as "American made, 1930s". Quite possibly, they are both correct, this may have been a popular puzzle that was produced for a few decades. However, the cutting style is very much like many German-made puzzles of the early part of the century. Each puzzle came with a heavy cardboard picture/scene that could be used to support the puzzle. I have also seen a turkey - camel - rooster set.
